Set up the BlueConic CDP and BlueConic Experiences integration

The BlueConic Experiences and BlueConic CDP integration enables a seamless, real-time data flow between BlueConic Experiences and the BlueConic (CDP). Use it to capture first-party data from your experiences and pass it directly into BlueConic profiles — whether you’re enriching profile data, collecting leads, or triggering lifecycle orchestration events.

Once connected, users can move between the BlueConic CDP and BlueConic Experiences without separate logins. The integration also adds an Experiences tab to the BlueConic navigation, so you can access your Experience Library, pull experiences into Dialogues, and activate zero-party data directly within CDP workflows.

This integration is available to customers who use both BlueConic Experiences and the BlueConic CDP.

Use cases

  • Personalization at Scale: Use data collected via BlueConic Experiences to refine customer segmentation and personalize marketing efforts within BlueConic and its integration partners.

  • Lead Nurturing: Automatically populate BlueConic with lead data collected and its 1st party data

  • Event Triggers: Drive lifecycle events, such as email campaigns or retargeting ads, based on real-time data updates.

Before you begin

  • Ensure you have active accounts with both BlueConic Experiences and BlueConic CDP.

  • Administrative access to configure integrations in both platforms.

  • Decide how your experiences will be delivered. See Delivering Experiences with BlueConic CDP for guidance on available delivery patterns.

  • Review the Experiences by BlueConic Connection page for instructions on how to configure the connection in BlueConic CDP.

  • In BlueConic you must create a first-party hostname and complete DNS verification. Only hostnames with a READY status will sync to Experiences.

Access the Connection in BlueConic

  1. Log in to your BlueConic platform.

  2. Navigate to the Connections tab.

  3. Search for the BlueConic Experiences integration.

  4. Enter a name and metadata for this connection.

Authenticate and Connect

Follow the prompts to authenticate your Experiences by BlueConic account. This step ensures secure communication between the platforms.

Map Attributes

  1. Within the connection settings, you can map data attributes collected from BlueConic Experiences to the corresponding BlueConic profile properties.

  2. Mapped attributes will automatically pass from BlueConice Experiences to the BlueConic CDP in real time.

Test and Activate

Once mapping is complete, test the connection by running an experience. Verify that data appears correctly in your BlueConic profiles.

  1. Once activated, you will notice the Activation label on your BlueConic tile on the Integrations tab.

What happens after the connection is created

Once a Connection is established:

1. An “Experiences” Tab Appears in BlueConic

If your tenant has an active Connection, you’ll see an Experiences tab in the top-level navigation. Selecting this tab opens your Experience Library directly within BlueConic.

2. Single Login Across Both Platforms

When you log in through your BlueConic tenant, you automatically gain access to Experiences.

  • You do not need a separate login.

  • You do not need to manage two sessions.

  • Authentication happens automatically behind the scenes.

If your email does not yet exist in Experiences, a user account will be created automatically the first time you access it and you will be given Business Owner access in the Experiences platform.

Navigation between platforms

You can move between BlueConic Experiences and BlueConic CDP using the navigation.

  • Click Experiences in BlueConic to open your Experience Library.

  • Use the navigation controls to return to BlueConic.

  • You remain authenticated throughout your session.

If you log in directly through the standalone Experiences by BlueConic login page, you won’t see the BlueConic navigation or unified workflow. Always start your session in BlueConic.

Note: To move seamlessly between BlueConic and Experiences, you must log in through BlueConic.

Domain considerations

For optimal tracking and profile unification, it’s essential that the CDP, parent website, and BlueConic Experiences operate on the same domain. This ensures 1st-party cookies can be set and read across sessions. Unifying to a single domain simplifies integration and maximizes tracking accuracy.

  • When you connect a BlueConic CDP tenant to the BlueConic Experiences brand, the first-party hostnames created in BlueConic automatically generate custom domains in Experiences. This ensures that launch links and embedded iframes align with the BlueConic script.

  • Each time a new hostname is added in BlueConic, it is also created in BlueConic

  • Hostnames are sent from BlueConic CDP to BlueConic Experiences every 10 minutes once the connection is turned on.

DNS and hostname requirements

  • Only hostnames with a READY status in BlueConic (DNS verified) are eligible. The region is also sent the first time a hostname syncs, and again whenever the connection setup changes.

  • To achieve READY status:

    • Follow the DNS instructions displayed in the BlueConic Hostname tab.

    • Add the DNS record within 14 days of creating the BlueConic hostname.

    • After making DNS changes, allow up to 48 hours for verification to complete.

Note: For existing connections, the Save button will be active (blue) once you open the setup page after installing the latest version. Please click the Save button to ensure that the connection saves the region.

Domain configuration

Once synced, domains appear in your brand under Settings > Domain Configuration.

When running Experiences stand-alone on the BlueConic first-party hostname, make sure that the hostname is either:

  • Created as a new channel in BlueConic, or

  • Configured as an alias for an existing channel.

When creating and publishing an experience, you can then select the appropriate domain for that campaign. The selected domain will display on the Launch tab.

Important: Once an experience is published, its domain cannot be changed. Each campaign is tied to a single domain. If an experience was created before the correct hostname existed in BlueConic, copy the experience and republish it with the correct domain.

Control data passing on a per-campaign basis

Once the Connection is made, by default all campaigns will pass attributes and campaign data into the CDP. However, if there are certain campaigns you do not want to pass data for, you have the control to turn off sending the data. To turn off passing data, do the following:

  1. Open the experience and open the builder map.

  2. Click More in the tool bar.

  3. Select ReCaptcha > BlueConic Settings.

  4. Toggle Send attributes to BlueConic off.

Next steps

  • Utilize the integrated data to refine customer segmentation and personalize marketing efforts within BlueConic and its integration partners.

  • Drive lifecycle events based on real-time data updates.
