Preview Experience: Trivia Experience
Before configuring scoring or results, we recommend first applying your brand styling and updating the experience content.
Step 1: Apply Your Brand Styling
The first step is to replace the template branding with your own. Review the Style Guide Overview and Design Specifications for instructions.
Review and update:
Colors
Fonts
Logos
Background images
Buttons
Imagery
Haven't created a Style Guide yet?
No problem. You can still apply your branding directly within the experience.
From the Builder Map, select the Design icon in the toolbar.
The Experience Style Guide modal will open.
Update your colors, fonts, logos, buttons, and imagery by clicking into each element and updating use the left side panel tools.
Click Apply to update all screens.
Applying your style guide first makes it easier to visualize the final experience as you customize questions, responses, and outcomes.
Step 2: Customize the Introduction Screen
The introduction screen should clearly communicate what users are about to experience.
A strong introduction should answer:
What is the trivia topic?
How many questions will users answer?
What will they receive at the end?
Examples:
Test your skincare knowledge.
How much do you really know about travel rewards?
Put your sports expertise to the test.
Review and update:

Supporting copy
Call-to-action button text
Background imagery
Best Practice: Create excitement and encourage participation by highlighting the challenge or reward.
Step 3: Update the Trivia Questions
This template includes four sample trivia questions.
Review and update:
Question text
Answer choices
Supporting images (if applicable)
As you create your questions, ensure there is one clearly defined correct answer for each question.
Best Practices:
Keep questions concise and easy to understand.
Avoid ambiguous answers.
Balance difficulty appropriately for your audience.
Use answer choices that help educate and engage users.
Step 4: Configure Overlay Responses
Trivia Experiences can use Overlay Responses to provide immediate feedback after each answer submission.
Overlay Responses help create a more engaging and interactive experience by letting users know whether their answer was correct or incorrect before moving to the next question.
Accessing Overlay Respones
Open the Overlay Responses panel from the left toolbar.
Click either Answer Bar or Full Screen to display the response overlay after a user answers.
Customize the overlay by selecting the background color, font, text size, and text alignment. These style settings apply to all overlay responses.
Then, update each individual response with its own message, icon, and display duration.
Best Practice: Use overlays as an opportunity to educate users and reinforce key information, not just indicate whether they were right or wrong.
Step 5: Configure the Lead Capture Screen
The lead capture screen allows you to collect information before revealing final results. Review and update:
Form Fields
Determine which information you want to collect:
Email Address
First Name
Last Name
Phone Number
Custom Fields
Opt-In Language
Update all consent language to align with your organization's legal and compliance requirements.
Examples include:
Marketing consent language
Privacy policy references
Terms and conditions
Hyperlinks
Ensure all links point to the correct destinations:

Step 6: Configure The Results Screen
The Results Screen is where users receive the results on how well they did.
Verify the dynamic Outcome elements are present on the screen.

💡 Tip: You'll know that you have the correct dynamic outcome elements by the distinguishing brackets arounds the element name.
On the Builder Map, the results screen can be identified by the arrow icon.
Best Practice
Ensure the results experience aligns with the overall purpose of the quiz and provides a clear next step for the user.
Step 7: Configure Scoring Outcomes
Trivia templates use Scoring Logic to automatically calculate a user's score based on correct answers.
Accessing the Outcomes Section
Before you can customize the outcome content, you'll need to navigate to the Outcomes section of the experience. There are two ways to access this page:
Option 1: From the Builder Map
From the Builder Map, select the Outcomes icon in the toolbar. This will open the Outcomes page where you can view, add, and edit all outcome details for your experience.
Option 2: From the Screen Editor
If you are actively editing a screen, you can also navigate directly to Outcomes from the left-side panel. In the editor, locate and select Add Outcomes. This will take you to the same Outcomes page without needing to return to the Builder Map.
For each outcome, review and update:
Outcome Header
The title of the persona or result.
Outcome Description
Provide a detailed explanation of the persona and why the user was matched to it.
Outcome Image
Upload an image that visually represents the persona.
Redirect URL
Add a destination URL where users can continue their journey after viewing their result.
Outcome Name
This is a required field to add. This is just the internal name that will be used for reporting and analytics.
Add and Removing Outcomes
Use the plus button or trash icon at the bottom of the screen to add or remove outcomes. You need at least 2 outcomes to access the logic page.
Best Practice: Create outcomes that feel distinct, memorable, and valuable to the user.
Step 8: Configure Scoring Logic
Configure Outcome Thresholds
Next, configure the minimum score required for each result. Ensure the outcomes are set to the scoring logic.
For each outcome:
Open the Outcome configuration.
Set the minimum number of correct answers required to qualify for that result.
The platform will automatically calculate scores and assign users to the appropriate outcome.
Define Correct Answers
Navigate to the Logic section and identify the correct answer for each question.
For every question:
Select the correct answer.
Save your changes.
The platform will automatically:
Mark all remaining answers as Incorrect.
No additional scoring configuration is required at the answer level.
Best Practice: Review outcome thresholds carefully to ensure every possible score is accounted for.
Step 8: Test the Experience
Before publishing, complete a full testing pass. From the Builder Map, you will click on the Preview button to test your experience.
Review:
Branding and styling
Question content
Correct answer assignments
Overlay responses
Lead capture functionality
Consent language
Outcome thresholds
Mobile responsiveness
Run multiple test scenarios to verify that:
Correct answers are scored properly.
Incorrect answers are scored properly.
Overlay responses appear as expected.
Users receive the correct result based on their score.
Next Steps
Once testing is complete, your Trivia Experience is ready to publish and generate launch links by toggling to the launch section from the Builder Map.
