Validate outcome logic

Updated this week

The Outcome Validator is a way to test your different responses to ensure you have your outcome logic set properly. This tool is available on the Outcome Logic page.

Before you begin

The Outcome Validator is only available for linear campaigns (campaigns without branching).

Using the Outcome Validator

Follow these steps to test/validate your outcome logic:

  1. From the Outcome Logic page, toggle on the Outcome Validator in the upper right corner.

  2. Observe the percentages at the top of the page associated with each outcome. These percentages show the likelihood of an end user reaching a specific outcome based on all possible experience paths with the current pointing setup. You can refresh the calculator after updating points.

  3. Select responses across all screens using the selector to the left of each response in the menu. This allows you to test how a specific combination of responses matches to an outcome.

  4. As you select responses, notice the numbers next to the outcomes change. These numbers show the total points earned towards each outcome based on your selections.

  5. View which outcome is in the lead at the bottom of the screen. The system always matches users to the outcome with the most earned points.

  6. If the results are not as expected, update your pointing logic in real time and observe the impact on the winning outcome.

  7. Optionally, export a CSV file at the bottom of the page. This file shows how each response combination can lead to each outcome.

Note: There is a cap of 100,000 combinations for this export.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What Outcome is served in the case of a tie?

If there is an Outcome tie, which means that the same amount of points was earned towards more than one Outcome, Jebbit will serve the user one of the top Outcomes at random, since any of the Outcomes would be most relevant.

  • Why can't I use the Outcome Validator?

If your campaign has branching then you will not be able to use the Outcome Validator. What may be helpful is creating a copy of your experience and then removing the branching on the copy, to test the outcome logic one one pathway at a time. You can also reach out to the Support Team for guidance on how to test logic on a campaign with branching.
