Add a file uploader

Updated over a month ago

The file uploader is a feature that can be added to any Jebbit experience - the tool itself allows your audience to easily upload any file type directly into your experience!

We have seen brands use this feature to collect user-generated content (UGC) such as selfies, photos of receipts, Tik Toks, resumés and more! We often see the UGC collected within these experiences repurposed for other marketing efforts or in conjunction with a sweepstakes.

Before you begin

  • Determine the objective of collecting files. Are you gathering UGC for a campaign, contest, or feedback?

  • If you require the uploader to be in a language other than English, note that this customization requires coordination with the Studio Team and additional lead time.

Add file uploader

Follow these steps to add a File Uploader element to a screen:

  1. In the Editor, select Add Elements.

  2. Click the File Uploader button to add the element to the screen.

Next steps

  • Preview and test the experience to ensure the uploader functions as intended.

  • Once satisfied, publish your experience to make it live for your audience.

How can I edit the message that appears after a file is uploaded, in my experience?

  • Navigate to the design tab via the builder map. To edit the message shown after a file is uploaded, go to the Edit Error Messaging section in the style guide. Locate the file uploader field. Click the color box to adjust the text color if needed. Each error type has a default message displayed in grey, simply type your custom message into the textbox to override it. Once you've made your changes, click Save to apply them. This allows you to control the messaging users see when a file upload triggers an error or requires a customized response.
